How most owners find this software
Send me a customer. I pay you $200.
Search advertising in this category costs more than it is worth to me, so the money goes here instead: $200 for every new paying customer you send, on either roster.
Referral record / no capPaid once the property is set up and its first monthly bill is paid.
Referral register / 01
The whole offer, in seven lines.
There is no longer version of this in a contract somewhere. What is written here is what I pay and when I pay it.
| What it pays | Two hundred dollars for each new paying customer you send. It is the same $200 whether the property is a ten-space lot or a full self-storage building. | $200 |
|---|---|---|
| Which products | BayRoster for storage lots, self-storage, RV and boat storage, and slips. PineRoster for seasonal campgrounds. A customer on either one pays the same referral. | Both |
| When it is paid | After the referred property’s setup is complete and its first monthly bill is paid. That is the point where they are a real, running customer rather than a signature, and it is the only reason for the wait. | After bill 01 |
| How many you can send | No cap. There is no limit on how many customers you refer or on what you are paid in a year. | No cap |
| How to claim it | Have them mention your name when they first call or write, or send me the name yourself. There is nothing to sign up for, no portal, and no referral code. | By name |
| What does not count | Referring yourself, and adding another property to an operation that is already a customer. The $200 is for bringing a new customer to the business. | Excluded |
| Taxes | If referral payments to one person reach $600 in a calendar year, US rules require a W-9 from you and a 1099 from me. Better said here than at the $600 mark. | $600 / 1099 |
Claiming it / 02
There is nothing to sign up for.
One sentence in one conversation is the entire process.
They use your name
When the owner first calls or writes, they say who sent them. That is the whole registration, and it is the version that needs the least from you.
Or you send me the name
An email or a call with the property and the person to talk to works the same way. Either route puts your name on that customer’s record before the conversation starts.
Then it waits for the first bill
I set the property up, they pay their first monthly bill, and I pay you the $200. If the fit turns out to be wrong and they never become a customer, there is nothing to pay, and you will hear that from me rather than from silence.
Referral route / 03
Send me a name.
Who to call and what kind of property it is, is enough. If they end up on either roster, that is $200 to you.
